The Islands Estate

The Architectural Guidelines together with the Building Contractor's Conduct form a significant part of the managing process of the Estate. The HOA would like you to get familiar with the do's and don'ts regarding our Rules. We will keep you updated on an ongoing basis in this space.

The latest revision (Rev 4.2 July 2008) of the Architectural Guidelines is now available and includes the changes made to the height of the side boundary walls e.g. max 1,2m high between boundary and building line.
Building Contractor's Dos and don'ts in short: (Complete document can be viewed at www.theislandsestate.co.za )

1.    Hours of work:

• 06h30-18h00 Monday to Friday
• No work will be permitted on public or builder's holidays
• No deliveries after 12h00 on Fridays

2.    Site Tidiness:

• Building rubble must be removed on a daily basis.

3.    Identification of labourers:

• Contractor's labourers must wear overalls and/or shirts with the name of the company visibly displayed on it at all times.

4.    Health and safety:

• The building sites must be screened off with standard wooden panels and a lockable gate.

b.    A chemical toilet must be provided and also screened off.

• Fires for cooking or any other purposes will not be permitted.

5.    General

• Speed limit is 40km/h and 30km/h at traffic circles.
